What is the ISO 14001 standard?

ISO 14001 is the corner stone standard of the ISO 14000 series. The ISO 14000 is a series of international standards on environmental management, and ISO 14001 specifies a framework of control for an Environmental Management System that can be certified by a third party.

Please see certificates and permits for more information.

What is the ISO 9001 standard?

ISO 9001:2000 specifies the requirements of a quality management system within an organization. To receive certification an organization must:

  1. demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products or services that meet both customer and regulatory requirements, and
  2. continuously enhance customer satisfaction by improving the quality management system and exceeding customer and applicable regulatory requirements.

All requirements of this International Standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size, or product.

What procedures should we follow if we want to send our waste to WMS? How much does it cost?

Technical Sales Representatives will perform a free onsite visit and provide an initial assessment of your waste management needs. Please contact us via phone at BPEC (66) 2-709-2546, ESBEC (66) 38-346-364, or by email at info@wms-thailand.com

After the initial consultation, we ask that you provide us with a sample of your waste, either a one kilogram sample for solid waste and/or a one liter sample for liquid waste. We will then analyze the sample to determine the appropriate treatment method, and after incorporating information about your waste volume and contract length, we will send you a price quotation. Service then begins after you sign the WMS Service Agreement.

What is the routine procedure for receiving and disposing of industrial waste?

After the truck arrives at WMS, the weight of the waste is recorded and a sample is taken for lab analysis. The lab results determine whether or not WMS can accept the waste. If the waste fails the lab analysis, then WMS will not accept the waste and the Customer Services Group will send an off-spec notification stating the reason for rejection. Otherwise, the facility will accept the waste for disposal.

What size waste sample does WMS require?

WMS requires a one kilogram sample for solid waste streams and/or a one liter sample for liquid waste streams. WMS may require a larger sample size in certain situations.

Does WMS provide the sample container?

Your Account Manager will bring a container to collect the sample when they visit your site.

What happens if you cannot provide a sample?

If no sample is available, a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) will help us determine the treatment method. Upon waste collection and arrival, we will perform an inspection and laboratory analyses to re-confirm the treatment method and costs. In this situation, additional commercial and safety conditions will apply and the customer will need to provide digital photos of the waste and a written testimonial.

How long does it take to receive the price quotation?

WMS always sends the quotation as soon as it is available. In the past, WMS has returned quotations within five to 14 days after receiving the sample at the laboratory. Your Account Manager can offer a price estimate in less time; however, this estimate is subject to change pending the lab results.

Can we use our own trucks to deliver waste to WMS?

Yes you can; however, we prefer that you use our own drivers and specialized equipment. As long as you follow all of the regulations required for transporting hazardous waste, you can subcontract out the transport service. In this situation, you will be responsible for all liabilities associated with transportation.

What is the minimum quantity of waste you will collect?

There is no minimum quantity. For small quantities of bulk waste in solid form, we will use our 10 cubic meter roll off box to collect the waste, and the minimum quantity in the 10 cubic meter container is three tons per collection. Otherwise the newly fabricated one cubic meter boxes or 200 liter sealed drums can be used. Special packaging is required for small amounts packed in 200 liter drums or 1 cubic meter containers.

Does WMS provide the containers for waste storage?

Yes. The cost for the container is included in the service fees if your waste is collected at least once every three weeks. WMS has a variety of containers to suit your needs.

If we deliver waste in drums, can you return the drums?

Yes, we can; however, you must deliver a minimum of 25 drums per shipment at a minimum of one shipment per month. The returned drums must be used for the same waste stream and each drum must be marked with a Profile Number and Company Name for safety reasons. Customers should not mix different types of waste.
